Socialism is for Wimps

I have had enough of people my age talking about the virtues of Socialism.  No truly great country has survived under socialism.  It makes people lazy.  And most people who advocate it are lazy too, which is a good thing because it means the chances of America going socialist are lessened.  Still, we are taking steps towards socialism in many ways, one of which is healthcare.

I’m really not in the mood to rail against government-run health care right now, but I do have some inconvenient questions to ask all you liberals out there:

  1. How the hell do you think we can treat an extra 46 million people with the doctors we have now?
  2. How the hell are we going to pay for this?
  3. Since when was health care a right (on the same lines as speech, religion, protest)?
  4. Since when was the government good at doing anything?
  5. Even if the initial plan isn’t "government-run", isn’t that the ultimate goal?
  6. Who gave the government the power to force people to have health care?
I expect some answers.

Iran and Obama: What the Hell???

The election in Iran was a fraud.  That is obvious.  What is not obvious is how America should deal with the situation.  However, in the good ole US of A, the initial response was pathetic, by both the President and the media.  MSNBC was showing some stupid crime documentary.  CNN wasn’t doing much at all (no wall-to-wall coverage as expected).  FNC did about as much coverage as CNN, with the global benefit of sister network Sky News (much better than CNN International IMO).  Overall, this was a big story and didn’t get enought press.

But perhaps that is because Pres. Obama didn’t give it much press himself.  After all, the media pretty much do whatever Obambi tells them to (like bend over…).  The initial response was tepid at best.  On Meet the Press this past Sunday, VP Blowhard, I mean Biden, said the administration would not comment yet.  Then, when it did first comment, it sent out a weak response.  Finally, it sent out a tougher response later.  But still, what are we doing???  Helping the protestors who want a fair election process?  No, as Jonah Goldberg points out in a great article.  Keep in mind these protesters are not trying to overthrow the government.  They just want fairness.

Starting Up Again

I am going to start blogging a lot this summer.  I can already tell that this summer is going to be very busy (I have a lot of things to do relating to my future, yippie!); however, I am determined to exercise my first amendment right to free speech.  Too many things anger me right now.  Like how stupid the American electorate is.  And how stupid Congress is.  And how idiotic America’s youth is.  And lots of other things.  Like how big of a dick-wad Keith Olbermann is.
